Agroforestry practices have been shown to have a potential in the rehabilitation of various ecosystem services and to play a role in householder food consumption habits. The implementation of agroforestry management system on farms that used to be monocultures is becoming popular for coffee production in Colombia. Since coffee regions have a key value for the country in both economic and ecological terms, there is an interest to evaluate the effects of this transition from monoculture to agroforestry practices in nature conservation and social improvements. The aim of this study is to analyse the rehabilitation dynamics of local biodiversity and to investigate the influences of agroforestry management systems on householder food production and consumption habits in Colombian coffee farms.
